Self-study Orientation Guide

 

To Instructors:

To upgrade to Wilderness First Aid Basics Instructor, you must have a current instructor certification that includes first aid, some experience in outdoor activities, and approval from your unit of authorization. If you qualify, you must complete the self-study orientation to acquaint yourself with the Wilderness First Aid Basics course and materials. The materials are available through the Transylvania County Chapter, American Red Cross, 828-884-4530 or www.webtransylvania.com/redcross.

After completing the Self-study guide, you may grade the self-study yourself as this is a study aid, not a test. Complete the Orientation Verification Form and turn it in to your American Red Cross unit of authorization. Your authorizing unit will issue you an instructor certification (F5736) for Wilderness First Aid Basics.
